The University of Northern Iowa men's basketball team (21-10,11-7 Missouri Valley Conference), seeded 11th in the Syracuse region, will face sixth-seeded Wisconsin (22-8, 11-5 Big Ten Conference) on Friday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Tipoff time is 6:20 p.m. (central). The winner will face the winner of the Kansas-Bucknell game on Sunday.

This is the second straight NCAA tournament appearance for the Panthers, who fell to eventual NCAA runner-up Georgia Tech, 65-60, in the 2004 NCAA first round. It is UNI's third-ever NCAA tournament berth, and the first time the Panthers have been picked as an at-large selection.

UNI's 11th seed is also its highest ever, as the Panthers were 14 seeds in both 1990 and 2004.

All games at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City, Okla., for the first and second rounds are sold out.
