Television, Internet Coverage of 2009 Paradise Jam
Men's Paradise Jam (11/20 - 11/23): New York & Los Angeles - For the fifth consecutive year, Fox College Sports (FCS) will present live broadcasts of the 2009 U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam, beginning with the semifinals on Sunday, Nov. 22 (6 PM and 8:30 PM ET). On Monday, Nov. 23 at 6 PM ET, FCS will air the consolation game and the championship game (8:30 PM ET) which will be a simulcast with Fox Sports Net (FSN). FCS once again, will offer live telecasts of the semifinals, consolation and championship games, while FSN will provide live national coverage of the championship and consolation game from the University of the Virgin Islands' Sports and Fitness Center. Dan McLaughlin calls play-by-play and Larry Conley provides the analysis while Samantha Steele will be reporting from the sidelines. Led by 2009 Sweet 16 participants Purdue and Tennessee, the Paradise Jam boasts one of the strongest fields among the holiday tournaments. Head coach Matt Painter and the Purdue Boilermakers have all the pieces to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament and are looking to add a Paradise Jam victory to the Boilermakers' resume. Meanwhile, Bruce Pearl and the Tennessee Volunteers are looking to advance past the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history and the road starts in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Standing in the way of Tennessee and Purdue are six teams eager to get their own seasons off on the right foot and rack up some key non-conference wins. Boston College, Saint Joseph's, DePaul, Northern Iowa, East Carolina and South Dakota State complete the Paradise Jam field. Aside from the four men's games which will be airing on FCS, all of the tournament's preliminary round games will be streamed live on www.foxcollegesports.com. Following the men's tournament, all of the games in the women's Paradise Jam tournament will be streamed live as well, which take place from Nov. 26 - 28.
