Football
Ryan Callahan is in his third season as the athletic trainer for the University of Northern Iowa football team. Callahan previously served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the University of Central Florida football team from 2005-2007. He earned his master's degree in physical education at UCF. He gained athletic training experience in the National Football League as an intern for the Washington Redskins in 2005. Callahan, a native of Orlando, Fla., gained his bachelor's of science degree in sports medicine at Florida State University. He served as an athletic training student with football (2002-2004) and for the Seminole baseball team (2005). Callahan is a National Athletic Trainer's Association Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), a Licensed Athletic Trainer (Florida/Iowa) and a NATABOC Approved Clinical Instructor. He and his wife, Emily, were married May 14, 2009. The couple resides in Cedar Falls. |
