2008: Played in 12 games as a backup tight end ... saw a lot of time on special teams ... returned two kicks for 28 yards in a 30-6 win at Western Illinois (11/1) ... earned his first career start in UNI's 40-15 FCS playoff victory over Maine (11/29) as a part of a two-tight end look. 2007: Saw action in eight games as a backup tight end ... had his first career catch, a 30-yard touchdown reception, called back because of an illegal touching penalty vs. New Hampshire (11/24) in the first round of the FCS playoffs ... caught a 7-yard touchdown pass from Pat Grace in the spring game. 2006: Played in four games but did not record a statistic ... caught an 18-yard scoring pass in the Spring Game for the only touchdown of the contest. 2005: Redshirted. High School: Unanimous two-time first team all-CIML, at DE as a junior and TE as a senior ... recorded 103 career tackles, 14 sacks and two fumble recoveries; 26 catches for 350 yards and three TDs ... earned two letters ... a four-year letterman in track and holds the school record in the discus at 171-7 ... finished fourth at the state track meet as a junior in the discus ... ran on the 4x100 team that qualified for the Drake Relays and the state track meet ... member of honor roll and Fellowship of Christian Athletes ... volunteers with Special Olympics ... enjoys lifting weights, wake boarding, jet skiing and playing ping pong ... also recruited by Iowa and Iowa State ... high school coach: Sam Anderson.
