UNI Coach Mark Farley

On what it means to defeat Iowa State:

"As a UNI alum, and going through all the years I was a player, an assistant coach and being the head coach of some of these teams that we've brought down here, it just makes you so proud. To look up on the hill and see all of those people and the fans and the players that come down on the field. They have been waiting years for this. That's what makes it special."

On fourth-down conversion for touchdown in the second quarter:

"We came here to win. When we called that timeout, I knew what I wanted to do, but it had to be the players. I asked them if they wanted to do this and there was no question that they wanted to go for it. Offense called a great play. The slant was open and Victor (Williams) made a nice catch."

"We came to win. There was a situation last year when we played in this football game that it was another fourth-and-2. We kicked a field goal and it got us three points, but ultimately we got beat by one. Should I have gone for the touchdown that particular time in that particular game?"

On difference between this year's ISU game and 2006 matchup:

"Our guys were not going to give up the lead. I think you saw that there was a different team in the second half. We came down here and said that, no matter where we are at halftime, up or down, we're going to keep our poise. It was going to be a four-quarter football game and we couldn't get excited just because we knew we were ahead at halftime. We felt that we were the better football team and we could win this football game. We knew they were going to make a run at us."

UNI tight end Austin Howard

On winning against Iowa State:

"Whenever you can beat Iowa State, it's a great accomplishment, but it's not one of our top goals for the season .Sunday we'll go back and watch tape and it's over with. We won't be satisfied until we have a national championship."

UNI linebacker Brannon Carter

On his interception in the first quarter:

"I kind of dropped back in the cover five and saw the running back leak out. I tried to take it back but got caught."

On emotion of the game:

"It feels so great to show we can play with a Football Bowl Division school. Watching Appalachian State (defeat Michigan) impressed us a lot. We haven't beat Iowa State for a while and it feels great."

"We felt like we could play with them. Last year at the half we were in the same situation. We learned we need to come out hard in the second half."

UNI cornerback Sean McMoore

On forcing a key fumble:

"I came in for (Chris) Parsons and Coach Farley wanted me to come in for special teams. I felt like I had to redeem myself from last year. I didn't even know I forced the fumble. I got up and looked around for my helmet and saw the ball roll out and jumped on the pile."
