  • Junior linebacker Araf Evans-Sykes suffered a broken upper left arm in the third quarter of the contest.

  • Senior placekicker Brian Wingert extended his consecutive games scored streak to 31 in a row against the Sycamores. Brian Mitchell (1989-91) holds the UNI consecutive games scored streak by tallying a single point in 33 straight games.

  • Wingert booted two first-half field goals to give him 55 career three-pointers. Mitchell holds the UNI career field goal record with 59.

  • UNI surpassed the 400-plus rushing mark (439 yards) for the first time since rushing for 406 yards against Western Illinois on Oct. 23, 2004.

  • The Panthers' four rushing touchdowns were the most since they had four ground scores against Northern Arizona on Nov. 19, 2005.

  • UNI's rushing offense was nearly unstoppable in the first half against Indiana State as the Panthers racked up 224 yards in the ground on 34 carries. UNI tallied 334 yards of total offense in the first half.

  • UNI scored on four-of-five first-half possessions. The Panthers scored two field goals and two touchdowns, but turned the ball over on its other first-half possession.

  • Junior safety Chris Parsons intercepted his first pass of the season in the fourth quarter. It was the third interception of his career after picking off two passes in the 2005 season.

  • Senior wide receiver James Lindgren's 11-yard touchdown run in the third quarter was his second career rushing touchdown. Lindgren's previous rushing touchdown came in the 2005 season opener against Drake in the UNI-Dome.

  • Lindgren is tied for the team lead in touchdowns scored this season with six. He was five receiving touchdowns and one rushing score.
     

     

  • For the second straight week, UNI played without the services of sophomore running back Corey Lewis. Lewis suffered a high ankle sprain against Iowa State on Sept. 30 and has not played since. Lewis leads the Panthers with 499 rushing yards this season. Junior Whitney Lewis drew his second consecutive start at running back.

  • UNI improved to 2-0 in the Gateway with a win on Saturday. The last time UNI opened the Gateway season with two straight wins came in the 2003 season when the Panthers jumped out to a 5-0 start in league play.

  • UNI has started 2-0 in Gateway Conference play 12 times since the league began play in 1985.

  • UNI holds a 19-4 lead in the all-time series. UNI has won four straight and 15 of the last 16 games between the two schools.
