CEDAR FALLS - Two University of Northern Iowa football players have been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 7 team.

Junior wide receiver James Lindgren (Odebolt, IA/Odebolt-Arthur HS) and senior center John Schabilion (Bettendorf, IA/Bettendorf HS) both were selected to the first team all-district as sponsored by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).

Lindgren has earned a 3.92 cumulative GPA. He's majoring in Construction Management after previously declaring in Biology and Chemistry. Schabilion has recorded a 3.87 cumulative GPA and is majoring in Quantitative Economics with a minor in Mathematics.

Lindgren enrolled at UNI as a Presidential Scholar. Last season, he was named to the Gateway Football Conference Academic All-Conference second team as well as to the District 7 second team. He was a Class Valedictorian and Class President at Odebolt-Arthur High School.

Schabilion was a semi-finalist for this year's Draddy Award, the academic Heisman. In 2004, he earned Gateway academic second team honors and was a first team all-district awardee. He also was named to the Division 1-AA Athletics Directors Association Academic All-Star Team. He also was a league second team all-academic choice in 2003.
