Men's Golf Finished 13th at Tiger IntercollegiateApril 14, 2009
Columbia, Mo. - The University of Northern Iowa men’s golf team finished 13th at the UMB-Mizzou Tiger Intercollegiate. The tournament was held at The Club at Old Hawthorne, a par 72 course of 7,221 yards.
UNI shot a final round 314 to finish with a 54-hole total of 931. Kansas State, which led at the end of the first day, was the tournament’s winner with an 874 total.
The Panthers’ Tyler Johnson shot a 77 in the final round to tie for 38th place with a 230 total. Troy Hoffman and Kyle Bermel were two shots back of Johnson, tying for 47th position with 232. Kelly Kraft of SMU defeated Sebastian MacLean of Xavier on the second playoff hole to earn medalist honors.
UNI’s next competition is at the 2009 State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Championship, held Apr. 27-28 at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
