Final Stats

In its first competition of the 2008-09 season, the University of Northern Iowa men's golf team stands in 12^th place after the first two rounds of the 40^th annual Falcon Invitational, hosted by the Air Force Academy.  The tournament is being played at the Eisenhower Golf Club (Blue Course), a par 72 course.

UNI shot 298 in the first 18 holes and bettered that with a 294 total in its second 18, to stand at +16 after the first day's action.  UNI is only six shots out of a tie for fifth place with 18 holes left to play on Sunday morning.  Colorado State and UNLV are the tournament co-leaders after 36 holes, having shot identical 276-284--560 (-16) scores.

Troy Hoffman is the top UNI individual, after he posted a 72-74--146 total (+2).  That has him in a tie for 22^nd position.  Just one shot behind Hoffman are Kyle Bermel (73-74--143) and Matt Sargent (74-73--147).  Bryce Hanstad of Colorado State is the individual leader with a 70-68--138 (-6) card.
