Men's Golf Tied For Fifth After First Day of John Dallio MemorialSept. 21, 2008
Lemont, Ill. - The University of Northern Iowa men's golf team stands in fifth place after the first two rounds of the John Dallio Memorial. The tournament, hosted by DePaul University, is being played at Ruffled Feathers Golf Course, a 6,858 yard, par-72 course.
UNI shot a 297 in the first 18 holes, and then bettered that with a 289 in the second round for a first-day score of 586. The Panthers are tied with host DePaul for fifth place. Georgetown is the 36-hole leader with a 575 team score.
Junior Tyler Johnson is UNI's top individual, standing tied for seventh place after shooting 73-70--143. Fellow junior Troy Hoffman is tied for 20th place after shooting 72-74--146. Three players are tied for the individual lead with a five-under par 139 total.
The tournament concludes Monday morning with the final 18 holes.
