The University of Northern Iowa men’s golf team plays for the third straight week, as it heads to the UMB-Mizzou Tiger Intercollegiate in Columbia, Mo., Apri. 13-14. This is the final regular-season tournament for the Panthers, as their next competition will be at the State Farm MVC Championship Apr. 27-28.

TEEING OFF

• A total of 14 teams will be competing at the Tiger Intercollegiate. In addition to UNI and host Missouri, other teams participating are Kansas State, Missouri State, SMU, Iowa State, Wyoming, New Orleans, Liberty, UT-San Antonio, Xavier, UT-Arlington, Eastern Illinois and IUPUI.
• UNI will be paired with SMU and IUPUI on the tournament’s first day, which will consist of 36 holes. The final 18 holes will be played on Apr. 14, with team pairings based on standings after the first day’s competition.
• This is the second-ever Tiger Intercollegiate hosted at the Club at Old Hawthorne, which opened in 2007. Indiana won the inaugural event in 2008 with a three-round total of 881.
• The Panthers are coming off an 11th-place finish at the Branson Creek Invitational Apr. 6-7. The tournament was shortened to 36 holes due to weather, with UNI posting a 638 two-round total.
Troy Hoffman was UNI’s top individual finisher at Branson Creek, shooting 79-77--156 to tie for 24th place. Tyler Johnson was two shots behind Hoffman with a 158 total to tie for 34th, while Kyle Bermel tied for 40th with a 159. Johnson leads the Panthers with a 74.7 stroke average for the season, with Hoffman second at 75.9.
