2004: Outdoor - Earned first place the College Station Relays after clearing 16-4 3/4... Finished second behind former UNI athlete Jacob Pauli at the UNI Twilight... Captured eighth in the javelin (171-9) and second in the pole vault (16-4 3/4) at the Missouri Valley Conference meet... Cleared 17-3/4, his best of the season, at the Drake Relays where he placed fourth.

Indoor - Started his season with a first-place finish at the Panther Open... Earned all-conference honors after clearing 16-6 3/4 for second place at the Missouri Valley meet... Tied for second place at the UNI Invitational with his 16-10 3/4 height... Finished runner-up at the UNI-Dome Open after clearing 17-0... Captured fourth place at the competitive ISU Classic with his 17- 3/4 height... Finished sixth at the Last Chance meet.

High School: Placed 17th at the 2003 European Championships... Finished second at the Finnish National Indoor Championships and second at the National Outdoor Championships in 2002... 2001 Finnish school champions.

Personal: Son of John Kivioja and Arja Loytynoja... Born 10/7/82... Majoring in physical education with a coaching minor... Also recruited by Minnesota... Chose UNI because of the outstanding pole vault program.
