Cedar Falls, Iowa -

The men's 4x400 team of freshman Terrance Reid, sophomore Kyle Smith and seniors Ryan Kedley and Dirk Homewood competed in the Mayo Invitational at the University of Notre Dame today.  They not only won the event but provisionally qualified for Nationals with a time of 3:09.69.  This is one of the fastest times in the nation thus far into the season.

The University of Northern Iowa also hosted the Panther Classic today and came away with two men's titles.  Senior Derrick Brenner won the weight throw with a throw of 59-08.50 and sophomore Mark Harris picked up first place in the 400-meter dash (49.18).

Junior Cody Eichmeier and freshman Raven Cepeda took second place in the long jump (23-08.25) and 60-meter hurdles (8.33), respectively.  Sophomore Dylan Davis ran to second place in the 800-meter run in 1:53.17 and junior Jamie Goodwin tied for second place in the 200-meter dash (21.84).

The Panthers travel to Ames next weekend and then return home on Feb. 18 to host the UNI-Dome Open.
