Des Moines, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa track and field teams concluded competition at the 2005 Drake Relays with several outstanding performances.

Leading the way was the men's 4x400 relay team of Brent Dahlstrom, Ryan Kedley, Adam Hinders and Terrence Reid. The Panthers set a school record with a time of 3:06.03, which placed them third behind Baylor (3:05.19) and Oregon (3:05.72). The old UNI school record was 3:06.06 in 2003, set by Burke Bockman, Dave Paulsen, Branimir Peitel and Homewood.

UNI sophomore Kyle Smith placed sixth in the 800 meters in a time of 1:52.04. Fellow sophomore Yuriy Litvinski placed 10th in the triple jump with a season-best mark of 48-10.

On the women's side, freshman Crystal Hanson tied a season-best in the high jump, placing fourth with a 5-7 leap.
