UNI competed in three events today at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field championships in Sacramento, Calif.  The Panthers look forward to the 4x400-meter finals Saturday evening.

Senior Dirk Homewood (Cedar Falls, Iowa) barely missed the qualifying mark for finals in the 400-meter dash semis.  He finished fifth in his heat with a time of 45.57 seconds. He will run his final race as a Panther in tomorrow's finals of the 4x400, alongside Ryan Kedley, Cody Eichmeier and Terrance Reid.

Competing in his first ever NCAA Outdoor Track and Field championships triple jumper Yuriy Litvinski (Sliven, Bulgeria) posted a 49-1/4 on his final attempt after scratching his first two attempts.  He unfortunately missed the qualifying mark, wrapping up his sophomore campaign.

Jarno Kivioja (Porvoo, Finland) finished 12th in the pole vault, jumping 16-10.75 in the finals this evening.

UNI will be seeded eighth in the 4x400 tomorrow at 10:35 p.m. central.
