CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - University of Northern Iowa 197-pounder Andrew Anderson has been named the Western Wrestling Conference's Wrestler of the Week as announced by league officials.

Anderson (Sioux City, Iowa/East HS) recorded two falls in leading the Panthers to a pair of WWC dual wins over Wyoming (40-0) and Northern Colorado (36-6). Anderson recorded a third-period fall over Wyoming's Dan Barrone at the 6:49 mark of their match. Anderson then tallied a first-period fall over UNC's Patrick Carey at the 1:22 mark of their match.

Anderson improved to 13-8 this season and is ranked No. 18 in the Amateur Wrestling News and No. 19 in the W.I.N. rankings at 197 pounds.

It marks the third time this season a UNI wrestler has earned the honor. UNI's Moza Fay has twice been named the league's top wrestler.

The Western Wrestling Conference is comprised of seven schools including the Air Force Academy, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Northern Iowa, South Dakota State, Utah Valley State and Wyoming.
