UNI Open Bout-by-Bout Results

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa wrestling team tallied nine top-six finishes at the UNI Open on Sunday at the UNI-Dome. More than 350 wrestlers from across the midwest participated in the event.

UNI's C.J. Ettelson (Hudson, Iowa) and Moza Fay (Anamosa, Iowa) both took second-place honors in the event. Ettelson went 4-1 in the 141-pound weight class, while Fay went 5-1 in the 157-pound category.

The Panthers' Chris Helgeson (Lake Mills, Iowa), Chris Bitetto (Hackensack, N.J.), Curt Zinnel (Humboldt, Iowa), De'Andre Nunn (New Lenox, Ill.) and Tyler Rhodes (Mountain View, Wyo.) all earned fourth-place finishes.

Helgeson went 7-2 at 133 pounds, while Bitetto went 5-2 at 157 pounds. Zinnel was 4-2 at 174 pounds and Nunn was an identical 4-2 at 184 pounds. Rhodes notched a mark of 4-2 at heavyweight.

Alex Dolly (Mishawaka, Ind.) and Andrew Anderson (Sioux City, Iowa) closed out the Panthers' placers with fifth and sixth place finishes. Dolly went 5-2 at 174 pounds and Anderson went 2-3 at 197 pounds.

UNI will be in action twice this week with a dual at Iowa on Thursday at 7 p.m. and will close out the week with a home dual against Wisconsin on Saturday at 2 p.m. The Wisconsin-UNI dual will be broadcast live by Iowa Public Television from the West Gym.
