CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -

Members of the University of Northern Iowa women’s basketball team completed the first in a series of volunteer events when the team worked at the House of Hope on Thursday, June 25.

The House of Hope is a two-year transitional housing program for homeless, single mothers and their children. The women’s basketball team spent more than two hours painting rooms in one of the House of Hope residences.

Our staff and players understand how blessed we are for all the support the Cedar Valley gives our program, so we feel it is very important to give back to the community,” head coach Tanya Warren said. “We will continue to give back in a variety of ways as we continue to build our program.”

The women’s basketball team will also work with the Northeast Iowa food bank and Habitat for Humanity in July.
