Women's Golf Completes First Day Of Saluki InvitationalMarch 25, 2007
The University of Northern Iowa women's golf team is currently in 10th place after shooting a score of 334 in the first round of play at the Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Carbondale, Ill. Freshman Molly Schemm led the team today with a score of 78. She is currently tied for 13th place overall. Stef Nelson was the second finisher on the team shooting a score of 80 in her first round of play today. "Today was a bit of a struggle, but we are going to come out tomorrow and do our best to make up some ground," said coach John Bermel. "We definitely have the potential to go out tomorrow and have four or more rounds in the 70's. The Panthers will look to improve tomorrow when they complete the second and final round of the Saluki Invitational. Play begins at 9 a.m. and is a shotgun start.
