MVC Championship Results Day 2 Get Acrobat Reader

 

The University of Northern Iowa women's golf team stands tied for third place after 36 holes of play at the State Farm MVC Championships at Oak Hills Country Club in Omaha, Neb. The Panthers posted a second-round score of 317 to shoot an overall 36-hole score of 631.

 

Pre-meet favorite Illinois State shot a 305 for a two-day total of 616. The Redbirds own a one-shot lead over defending champion Southern Illinois heading into Tuesday's final round. Illinois State's Tiffany Hockensmith is the individual leader, after firing a second-round 72 giving her an overall score of 149. Hockensmith is one shot ahead of Olivia Lansing from Drake who shot a low-round score of 73 in the second to finish with an overall score of 150.

 

For the second straight day, there was a hole-in-one. Bradley's Bari Erais aced the 12th hole, which measures 165 yards. She used a five-iron for her first career hole-in-one. Erais stands tied for 15th place with a two-round score of 159.

 

Sophomore Molly Schemm (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) paced the Panthers on the second day of competition tying for fourth place with a second-round score of 76, giving her an overall score of 152.

 

Sophomore Ann Arnason (Grand Forks, N.D./Red River) stands tied for eighth place with a two-round score of 156. Arnason posted an 80 in the second round.

 

Redshirt freshman Sabrina Danielson (Pleasant Hill, Iowa/Southeast Polk) is currently tied for 18th place, posting an 81 in the second round with an overall score of 160.

 

Junior Kim Weber (Bernard, Iowa/Cascade) shot an 80 on the second day of competition, moving her up to a tied 26th place with a two-day score of 163.

 

Freshman Shanon Davis (Des Moines, Iowa/Valley) moved up four spots from yesterday to stand tied for 40th place after carding an 83 in the second round. Davis holds an overall score of 170.

 

Heather Frye (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) follows close behind in a 46th-place tie with a score of 172. The junior pocketed an 85 in the second round.

 

The final 18 holes of the 54-hole tournament will begin Tuesday at 11 a.m. The start time was delayed one hour due to the weather.
