The University of Northern Iowa women's golf team concluded its fall season at the LPGA International Xavier Invitational with an eighth place finish Sunday in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The sophomore duo of Ann Arnason (Grand Forks, N.D./Red River) and Molly Schemm (Fort Atkinson, Wis./Fort Atkinson) paced the Panthers at the LPGA International Golf Course.
Aranson (Grand Forks, N.D./Red River) was the top finisher for the team with a 13th place tie, firing a score of 227. The sophomore posted a first round score of 79, but countered with a low round 71 in the second. Arnason finished the final day of competition carding a third round 77.
Schemm followed close behind tying for 15th place with a 228. The sophomore recorded first and second round scores of 75 and 74, following up with a third round 79.
Kim Weber (Bernard, Iowa/Cascade) finished the tournament tied for 19th with a score of 230. The junior also shot a low round of 73. Junior Heather Frye (Fort Dodge, Iowa/Fort Dodge) tied for 42nd with a score of 240 and sophomore Brittany Bomar (Anchorage, Alaska/Robert Service) tied for 58th with a 245 to round things out for the Panthers.
The Panthers finished eighth overall with a team score of 921. The University of Florida Atlantic took home top honors at the tournament, firing a 906.
