UNI's Arnason Tied for 3rd at Palmetto Intercollegiate
Complete Results in PDF Format KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Junior Ann Arnason shot a season-best 72 and is tied for third place after round one of the Palmetto Intercollegiate being held at Oak Point Golf Course in Kiawah Island, S.C.
UNI is in 11th place in the team standings following the first round. The second round was suspended at 6:30 p.m. (eastern) due to darkness and will resume Tuesday morning before the third round begins.
Arnason, whose 72 is one shot off her career-best round, led the Panther effort with an even par front and back nine. Sabrina Danielson is tied for 31st with a 77. Blair Bonner shot a 78 and is tied for 39th. Kim Weber and Heather Frye each shot round of 83 to tie for 73rd.
East Tennessee State leads the tournament with a first-round team score of 299. The host College of Charleston is tied for second, one stroke off the lead, with Arkansas-Little Rock. UNI's team score of 310 was better than fellow conference squads Wichita State (328) and Creighton (342).
ETSU's Mayte Vizcarrondo leads the tournament with a 70, while Maryland's Alexis Holmes follows with a 71. College of Charleston's Steffi Kirchmayr is tied for third along with Charleston Southern's Olivia Higgins and UNI's Arnason.
The golfers will finish the second round beginning at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday before playing the third round immediately after.
