Last season, the Panthers placed eighth out of 13 teams in the Hawkeye Invitational held at the Finkbine Golf Course (Oct. 6-7, 2007). The Panthers shot team scores of 319, 316 and 332 during the three-round tournament.

The Panthers second outing of the season saw the squad place 14th at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational held at the Alvamar Public Golf Course in Lawrence, Kan. It was UNI’s first three-round tournament of the year after the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial was shortened to two rounds because of flooding.

Sophomore Sabrina Danielson (Pleasant Hill, Iowa) is the Panthers’ low scorer on the year as she is averaging 81.6 strokes per round. She posted the best finish on the team in Kansas as she tied for 43rd with rounds of 81, 80 and 83.

Freshman Blair Bonner (St. Paul, Minn.) notched her first sub-70 round of her collegiate career in the first round of the Sunflower Invite. Bonner tallied a first-round 79 and then followed that up with round of 83 and 85 to complete the tournament tied for 54th.

The Panthers finished ahead of Redlands Community College and Kennesaw State University at the Marilynn Smith/Sunflower Invitational. UNI had team scores of 325, 330 and 330 in the three-round tournament.
