Final Stats

PANTHERS FALL 4-0 TO NEVADA

Reno, Nevada - The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to Nevada, falling to 0-4 on the season.

The hosts opened an early lead when goals in the second and third minutes put the Panthers in a 2-0 hole. The second goal came by way of a header off of a corner kick. Nevada scored in the 39th minute to extend its lead to 3-0 and put through a penalty kick in the 51st minute to solidify a 4-0 win.

The Panthers were outshot 29-4 by Nevada with the hosts holding a 15-3 shot-on-goal advantage as well. Jana Teague, Allie Sowell and Lindsey Daugherty tallied shots for UNI, while Krista Thorley played in goal for the entirety of the game.

The Panthers fall to 0-4 on the season. UNI travels to the Creighton Bluejays Soccer Tournament for a matchup with Western Michigan Sept. 8. Game time is at 4:30 p.m.
