Brookings, S.D. - The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team fell to South Dakota State in its road opener this evening, 2-1. Junior midfielder Candice Divoky recorded her second goal of the season in the second period. The Solon, Iowa native has had a direct impact on four of UNI's six season goals, recording two goals and three assists in three games.

The Jackrabbits tallied the only goal in the first period, as Kellyn Farrell notched her second of the season in the 20th minute. The Panthers tied the game in the opening minutes of the second period (57:42) as Divoky scored on a pass from sophomore Allie Sowell, her first assist of the season and second career.

SDSU took the final lead at the 60:13 minute mark as Chelsea Goosen scored her fourth goal of the season, unassisted. The Jackrabbits improve to 2-1.

Sioux Falls, S.D. natives Brooke and Gretchen Orcutt both got a shot off in front of a home crowd. Senior Shanon Dechant led the team with four of its 15 shots. The Panthers are now 1-2 and play North Dakota State Sunday at noon.
