PANTHERS FALL 1-0 TO WINONA STATE

Waterloo, Iowa--A tense offensive assault in the final two minutes of the game couldn't produce the game-tying goal for the University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team Friday night. The game was the opener for the weekend-long Panther Invitational.

The Panthers mustered 10 shots on the night, including seven on goal. Amy Seubert (Minnetonka/Minn. Minnetonka) paced UNI with four shots, all on goal, while Jenna O'Hara (London, Ontario/A.B. Lucas) and Lindsey Daugherty (Loveland, Colo./Thompson Valley) tallied two shots each.

Krista Thorley (Alex, Ontario/J. Clarke Richardson) played all 90 minutes in goal and tallied six saves on the night.

UNI falls to 0-9-0 on the season.

Winona State and Western Illinois square off at Premier Field tomorrow at 3 p.m. The Panthers return to action Sunday against Western Illinois to close out the Panther Invitational.
