Tulsa, Okla. -

The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team was not able to overcome an early deficit, losing 3-0 to the University of Tulsa this afternoon.  Sophomore goalie Krista Thorley tallied 10 saves.

 

Six minutes into the first period the Golden Hurricane scored first as Katie Ward knocked in a shot, assisted by Molly Fitzsimmons.  Jennifer Kacergis then put Tulsa up 2-0 at the 16:20 minute mark and Ward collected her fifth assist of the season.  Ward recorded five points during the game, netting the lone goal in the second period.

 

The Panthers struggled on the offensive end and committed six more fouls than the Golden Hurricane.   

 

The Panthers (1-8-0) face Oral Roberts Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The Golden Eagles were 3-4-0 heading into the weekend.
