POCATELLO, Idaho-- The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team fell 2-0 to San Jose State after holding the Spartans scoreless in the first half. The Panthers took 16 shots on the afternoon, including six on-goal.

 

Goalkeeper Heidi O'Mara (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area) and the rest of the Panther defense kept the Spartan offense in check through the first 45 minutes. For the game, O'Mara played all 90 minutes and stopped a season-high 11 shots.

 

San Jose State scored two goals in a four minute timeframe in the second half. Spartan forward Jessica Scott scored both goals; the first in the 60th minute and the second in the 64th.

 


 

 

Chelsie Hochstedler (Marion, Iowa/Linn Mar) led the team with four shots, including two on-goal. Laura Wager (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Jefferson) tallied three shots on the day, including one on-goal.

 

The Panthers fall to 3-5-1 on the season. San Jose State moves to 1-5-2.

 

UNI travels to Madison, Wisc. to take on the Wisconsin Badgers Tuesday. Game time is at 7 p.m.
