WATERLOO, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa women’s soccer team fell 3-0 to Missouri State in Missouri Valley Conference soccer action Friday evening at the Cedar Valley Youth Soccer Complex. The Bears out-shot the Panthers 19-10 and 9-2 in the second half.

 

Missouri State jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute when Samantha Aguilar took a pass from Christine Cross and found the back of the net.

 

The Bears added to their lead in the second half, scoring two goals within just two minutes. Meghan Cassady scored off a corner kick at the 50:19 minute-mark and Aguilar added her second goal of the night at the 51:41 minute-mark. Cross was credited with the assist.

 

Nicole Ferlito led the offensive charge for the Panthers, taking four shots on the evening, with three being on goal.


 

 

 

Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Potzman registered 11 saves for the Panthers in the contest.

 

UNI (3-12-1) will head to Normal, Ill. for another MVC match-up against Illinois State Sunday, Oct. 12. The game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
