WATERLOO, Iowa-- The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team fell 3-0 to Illinois State for its first Missouri Valley Conference loss of the season. The Panthers took six shots in the loss.

 

Illinois State forward Yvonne Northover scored twice in the opening half to give the Redbirds a 2-0 lead at intermission. Bethany Russ scored the third goal of the game, while the ISU defense held the Panthers scoreless to secure the 3-0 win.

 

Senior Amy Seubert (Minnetonka, Minn./Minnetonka) led the Panthers with two shots, including one on-goal.

 


 

 

UNI falls to 4-6-2 on the season, 0-1-1 in the MVC. Illinois State improves to 6-4-1 overall and a MVC-best 2-0-0.

 

The Panthers meet Drake in Des Moines, Iowa on Sunday. Game time is at 7 p.m.
