Cedar Falls, Iowa -

The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team out shot the Sycamores 20-12, but lost 2-0 to Indiana State at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex.

 

Senior Sarah Huffer and sophomore Amy Seubert led the Panthers with five and four shots, respectively.  UNI had a conference game-high 20 shots, eight on goal with nine players taking a stab at the goal.  The Panthers and Sycamores tied with eight corner kicks apiece and UNI led the foul category 9-6.

 

Sophomore goalkeeper Krista Thorley tallied eight saves and dived to catch a Sycamore penalty kick in the 48th minute.

 

The game remained scoreless until Nichole Tiggs scored at the 57:37 minute mark.  Then Elaine Carlier, off an assist by Callie McDonough, put Indiana State up 2-0 in the 81st minute.


 

 

 

UNI (1-14-0, 0-4 MVC) hosts Evansville and Illinois State Friday and Sunday at the Cedar Valley Soccer Complex.
