Box Score

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa women’s soccer team ended the regular season with a 1-1 tie to Missouri Valley Conference foe Creighton Sunday afternoon. Both teams scored goals in the second period but neither could find the back of the net in the two overtime periods to leave the score knotted at 1-1.

Chelsie Hochstedler scored the first goal of the game off a penalty kick in the 69th minute.  The Bluejays tied the score with just over thirty seconds left in regulation when Kelly Connolly scored off a header from a corner kick.

Creighton outshot the Panthers 9-3 in the two overtime periods, but goalkeeper Lauren Potzman registered six saves to keep the score at 1-1.

Today’s contest marked the fifth overtime contest for the Panthers in 2009, including the second consecutive double overtime and fourth of the season.
