Softball
High School: Won four district titles and made four state tournament appearances with Fort Dodge in career spanning from 2001-2005, during which time team posted a 210-40 overall record. As an outfielder, was unanimous first team all-district and all-state selection in both 2004 and 2005, including Elite Team all-state honors in 2004. Named first team all-Central Iowa Metro League (Iowa Division) selection all five years. Earned third team all-state recognition as a pitcher in 2001 and a utility player in 2002, as well as fourth team all-state honors in 2003 as an outfielder. Finished career with .292 batting average after hitting .388 as a junior and .354 as a senior. Set school records for sacrifices (40) in 2003 and runs scored (60) in 2004. Coached by Andi Adams and was high school teammate of fellow Panther Morgan Paulson. Also was recruited by Iowa State and Wartburg College. Earned total of 13 varsity letters, qualifying three times for state track meet and twice for state cross country meet, and was an honor roll student. Personal: Born October 12, 1986 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Daughter of Jim and Ramona Peterson. Nickname is "Petey." Majoring in psychology. Father, Jim, played rugby for four years at Mankato State and sister, Jennifer, played one year of softball at Iowa Central Community College. Enjoys running and spending time with friends. Favorite movie is "Prefontaine" and enjoys the song "Best of You" by Foo Fighters. Favorite book is John Grisham's "A Time to Kill."
