Softball
2004: Played in 43 of 49 games, starting in 36. Batted .147 with 14 hits and 11 runs scored. A perfect 6-6 on the basepaths. Displayed impressive range at first base with a team-leading .987 fielding percentage. Hit at a .600 clip and collected five hits in two games against Southwest Missouri State. Gave UNI its first conference win with a walk-off two-run home run against SMS (3-27-04). 2003: Started all 48 games. Collected 22 hits with eight extra base hits, including four home runs. Stole three bases and scored three runs in the doubleheader at Butler (03/18/03). High School: Most Valuable Player in 2002. Earned first team unanimous NEIC shortstop in 2002 and unanimous third baseman all-conference in 2000. Thirteen athletic letters: five in softball, three in volleyball, two in basketball, two in track, one in golf. Exchange Club Student of the Month in 2001. Five-year varsity starter. All-conference NEIC second team choice in 2001, missing half of the season due to injury. Second place conference champion in volleyball 2000-2002. Finished fourth in conference in 2001-2002 in golf. In basketball, took second in 2000 conference tournament and placed fourth in 2002. Also participated in track in 1999. On Student Council, serving as class president for three years. Mock Trial two-time state participant. Personal: Born October 6, 1983. Daughter of Greg and Jane Sieleman. Majoring in Psychology with a Spanish and Coaching Minor. Hobbies include playing volleyball, listening to music, playing the guitar, hanging out with friends and watching "Mad About You." Volunteer of Big Sister program and Sunday school teacher. Favorite sports team is the St. Louis Cardinals with her favorite athlete being Ozzie Smith. Favorite quotes: "Even if you are on the right track, you'll get ran over if you just sit there."
