The University of Northern Iowa Women's swimming completes the final day of the Missouri Valley Conference Championships in fifth place with 273 points. Panther swimmers made it to the finals in all six of today's events, but only freshman Abby Moes (Sioux City, Iowa/Sioux City East) finished in the top ten in an individual event.

Moes finished eight in the 200-yard back with a time of 2:13.60. Other Panther finalists in this event were sophomore Mandy Lopez (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) at 11th-place with a time of 2:15.61, freshman Lauren Stork (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center Senior) at 13th-place with a time of 2:19.14, and freshman Katie Klinkenborg (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission East) at 14th-place with a time of 2:20.95.

Freshman Katie Maloy (Auburn, Ind./R. Nelson Snider) placed 11th in the 1650-yard free with a time of 18:05.97, followed by sophomore LiAnne Choitz (Buckeye, Ariz./Buckeye Union/New Mexico State) in 15th-place with a time of 18:343.42 and freshman Melissa Little (Lawrence, Kan./Lawrence) in 17th-place with a time of 18:49.16.

Another strong event for the Panthers was the 100-yard free. Junior Erin Danielson (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) claimed 12th-place with a time of 54.76. Freshman Alexa Armstrong (Dubuque, Iowa/Hempstead) raced in to 14th-place with a time of 55.28, followed by freshman Ashley Hunter (Overland Park, Kan./Blue Valley North) at 16th-place with a time of 55.98.

In the 200-yard breast, junior Rachael Robnett (Coeur d'Alene, Idaho/Lake City) came in 14th with a time of 2:32.42 and junior Lauren Mendel (Phoenix, Ariz./Arcadia) came in 16th with a time of 2:39.55.

 

 

Klinkenborg placed 12th in the 200-yard fly with a finishing time of 2:15.77 and junior Megan Little (Lawrence, Kan./Lawrence) finished 16th with a time of 2:20.60.

The Panthers finished the season with a dual meet record of 2-10 and say goodbye to senior Kendra Ryan (Hutchinson, Minn./Park Center Senior).
