Final Stats

Terre Haute, Ind. - The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team fell 6-1 to No. 66 ranked Indiana State. The Panthers are now 15-5 and 4-2 in Missouri Valley Conference play. Indiana State moves to 12-8, and 5-2 in the Valley.

 

            The Panthers fell in all three doubles matches and lost five of the six singles matches. UNI's lone win of the day came in the No. 5 singles match with Mariana Muraca (Sao Paulo, Brazil) topping Fadzai Masiyazi 7-6, (8-6), 6-3.

           

            "It was a hard fought match, and we had some chances to win in doubles we just didn't take them," UNI head coach Sachin Kirtane said. "We just need to bounce back and play hard tomorrow."


 

 

 

            The Panthers will face Illinois State tomorrow in Normal, Ill. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
