Junior Sampada Kanade and sophomore Diana Mendez were named to the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete Team Wednesday. Both were recognized as honorable mentions for the honor determined by MVC coaches.

Kanade (Mumbai, India), majoring in psychology, has earned a 3.33 GPA. The junior was an ITA academic award winner in 2008. Competing mostly at the No. 3 singles and No. 1 doubles spots, Kanade has compiled records of 15-7 and 9-13, respectively. Her singles record is tied for the team's best.

Mendez (Bogota, Columbia) is majoring in management with a 3.87 GPA. A sophomore, Mendez has racked up an 11-6 record in dual match singles play, competing mostly at the No. 6 position. She is also 9-12 in doubles play during the spring season.
