UNI Women's Tennis Adds Krissy Lankelma and Chelsea Moore to 2010-11 Roster
Nov. 11, 2009
University of Northern Iowa head women’s tennis coach Sachin Kirtane today announced the signing of two student-athletes to National Letters-of-Intent. Chelsea Moore (Camanche, Iowa) and Krissy Lankelma (Marshalltown, Iowa) will play for the Panthers beginning in 2010-11. Lankelma has been ranked as high as No. 11 in the Missouri Valley conference. She was the Iowa Junior Player of the year in 2009 and holds an overall high school record of 75-6. As a sophomore in high school she placed second at state and as a junior she won the state title with an overall record of 24-0. Moore won the 1A state singles title as a freshman in 2007. In 2008, she continued her success and won the 1A state singles title again as a sophomore. In her junior year, she was the 2009 1A state singles runner-up. Moore was also a standout athlete in volleyball and basketball for Camanche. “We are very excited to have Chelsea and Krissy be apart of the Panthers tennis program,” Sachin Kirtane said. “We have two of the best players in the state of Iowa coming to play for us and they are the type of players that will keep us at the top of the Missouri Valley Conference. They are both incredible athletes and have a high level of commitment to academics.”
