Outdoor Bests: Discus 168-11, Hammer Throw 160-4, Shot Put 48-4 Indoor Bests: Weight Throw 54-1 3/4, Shot Put 46-3 1/4

2004: Outdoor - Had one of the most successful freshman throwing seasons in Panther history... Finished first in both the shot put and discus at the UNI Twilight, breaking two school records with her discus mark (168-11) and shot put throw (48-8)... Also finished third in the hammer throw with her 138-8 1/2 mark... Placed fourth in the discus at the Stanford Invitational (158-09)... Took first place in the discus (136-6) at the John McDonnell Invitational and third place in the shot put (42-2 1/4)... Placed herself second in the UNI record books when she recorded a 160-4 mark in the hammer throw.... Earned MVC title when she won the discus with a 157-7 mark and finished runner-up in the shot put with a 47- 3/4 mark... Earned eighth place in the discus (156-7) at the highly competitive Drake Relays.

Indoor - Began her collegiate career at the Panther Open where she took second place in the weight throw with her 50-10 mark and fifth in the shot put for her 44-4 toss... Captured two third-place finishes at the Wisconsin Relays in both the weight throw (54-1 3/4) and the shot put (44-9 1/2) Followed her Wisconsin performance with two more third-place finishes, throwing 52-5 1/2 in the weight throw and 45-9 3/4 in the shot... Earned second place in the weight throw at the Panther Classic (52-2 3/4)... Awarded all-conference honors when she finished third in the shot put at the MVC meet for her 45-11 3/4 mark... Holds the third-best school record in both the weight throw (54-1 3/4) and the shot put (46-3 1/4).

High School: State champ in shot and discus... Placed first in discus and second in the shot at the Drake Relays as a senior... Gatorade Athlete of the Year in 2003... Participated in volleyball, basketball, and softball... Member of National Honor Society.

Personal: Born 7/26/84, to Lu and Jane Jansen... Majoring in business teaching... Chose UNI because of the beautiful campus and the close distance to her family.
