Box Score

Peoria, Ill. - Bradley's Lindsay Stalzer had a match-high 20 kills to lead Bradley to a 3-0 win over the University of Northern Iowa at Robertson Fieldhouse. Game scores were 30-25, 30-28 and 30-28.

UNI's Stephanie Germann (LeMars, Iowa) had 12 kills and Trista Humpal (New Hampton, Iowa) added 10 to lead the Panthers' offense. Sophomores Danielle Brazda (Omaha, Neb.) and Melissa Schmitz (Elk Run Heights, Iowa) added seven kills each for the Panthers. UNI was without the services of its top outside hitter, sophomore Laura Rowen, who was unable to play due to a sprained ankle suffered in practice this week.

Schmitz, starting in place of Rowen, posted career highs in both kills (7) and digs (15). The match was relatively even statistically, with Bradley holding a slight edge in kills (51-49) and blocks (7.0-6.0), while UNI held the advantage in digs (50-45).

With the win, Bradley improves to 10-6 overall and 5-0 in the Missouri Valley Conference, while UNI falls to 10-6, 4-1 in MVC play. The Panthers next match is a week from tonight (Oct. 7) when they travel to face Illinois State in Normal, Ill.
