Terre Haute, Ind. - Laura Rowen (Hansell, Iowa) had 13 kills and 14 digs to help lead the University of Northern Iowa volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Indiana State Saturday night. Game scores were 30-18, 30-26 and 30-22.

Freshman Ashten Stelken (Manchester, Iowa) had 12 kills and Trista Humpal (New Hampton, Iowa) added 10 for the Panthers. Indiana State's Tessa Wolf led all players with 14 kills, but no other Sycamore had more than six.

The Panthers offense was clicking, as the team hit .341 (58-16-123), while the Sycamores hit just .178 (36-15-118). The Panthers also won the battle of digs (54-36) and blocks (11-6).

The victory, which snapped a three-match losing streak for the Panthers, was UNI's 16th straight against Indiana State. The Panthers all-time record against the Sycamores is now 37-2.

With the win, UNI improves to 11-7 overall and 5-2 in the Missouri Valley Conference, while Indiana State falls to 0-18, 0-8 in MVC play. The Panthers are next in action on Friday, Oct. 14 when they host Missouri State at 7:00 p.m. in the West Gym.
