Cedar Falls, Iowa - Junior outside hitter Rachael Tink (Waterloo, Iowa) had a match-high 12 kills to lead the University of Northern Iowa volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of intrastate rival Drake Friday night at the West Gym. Game scores were 30-17, 30-21 and 30-23.

The victory, UNI's fifth straight overall, improved the Panthers' record to 12-6, 6-2 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Drake fell to 3-14, 1-7 in conference play.

Tink, the only player in double figures on the night, also added two service aces, eight digs and three blocks. UNI Freshman middle blocker Danielle Brazda (Omaha, Neb.) had nine kills and a match-high eight blocks, while senior right side hitter Shari Vermeer (Sioux Center, Iowa) added eight kills and six blocks. Sophomore libero Stephanie May (Dubuque, Iowa) led all players with 13 digs.

The match took just 1:17 to complete, and saw the Panthers dominate virtually every statistical category. UNI had more kills (43-30), digs (48-32), blocks (15-7), and service aces (8-4) than the Bulldogs. UNI also held Drake to just .018 hitting (30-28-113) for the match.

Lindsey Johnson led Drake with nine kills and 10 digs.

The victory was the Panthers' 16th straight against the Bulldogs, and UNI has now won 27 straight matches against volleyball teams from the state of Iowa. Panther head coach Bobbi Petersen improved to 16-0 lifetime against Iowa universities.

The Panthers next face Creighton tomorrow night (Oct. 16) in the West Gym, with first serve set for 7:00 p.m.
