Cedar Falls, Iowa - Junior outside hitter Rachael Tink (Waterloo, Iowa) had a match-high 17 kills and topped the 1,000 kill plateau for her career, leading the University of Northern Iowa volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep of Creighton Saturday night in front of 1,701 fans at the West Gym. Game scores were 30-18, 30-28 and 30-27.

Tink's first kill of the night gave her an even 1,000 career kills, and she ended the night with 1,016. She became the 14th UNI volleyball player to reach the 1000-kill milestone. In addition, Tink set a personal best and UNI season high by hitting .773 for the match (17k-0e-22ta). She recorded eight kills in her first eight swings on the evening.

The Panthers hit .277 (45-17-101) on the night to Creighton's .202 (44-19-101), and recorded more digs (46-33), blocks (9-7) and service aces (6-2) than the Bluejays. Creighton also hurt itself with 13 service errors for the match.

UNI controlled game one, going on a 13-3 run early to open an 18-8 advantage. The Panthers held Creighton to -.073 hitting in the first game (7-10-41). The Bluejays fared much better in games two and three, but the Panthers were able to get the key points late to pull out each contest. Laura Rowen (Hansell, Iowa) had back-to-back kills at the end of the second game to seal that 30-28 victory, and Tink had two key put-aways late in game three to help UNI get the 30-27 win and clinch the match.

Abby Lemek (Sioux City, Iowa) had eight kills and seven digs for UNI, while Rowen finished with seven kills. Stephanie May (Dubuque, Iowa) led all players with 13 digs.

UNI, which won its season-best sixth straight match with the victory, improved to 13-6 overall, 7-2 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Creighton fell to 13-6 overall, 5-4 in conference play. The win also improved UNI's career record against Creighton to 22-0.
