Panther Volleyball to 'Dig Pink' Oct. 25Oct. 14, 2008
The University of Northern Iowa volleyball team will take part in the national `Dig Pink' campaign on Saturday, Oct. 25 when the Panthers face Illinois State at the McLeod Center. First serve is set for 7 pm. Dig Pink is a national program to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer. College and high school volleyball programs from around the nation are using matches during the month of October (breast cancer awareness month) to promote this important cause. The Panthers will wear special pink jerseys that night, and pink t-shirts will be sold for $10 at the match, with all proceeds going to benefit breast cancer research. In addition, pink cotton candy, snow cones and ice cream will be on sale at the match. The National Cancer Society will also have an information table set up at the McLeod Center. Community National Bank, the official sponsor of UNI volleyball, will be donating $5 for each Panther dig during the match. In addition, CNB will match and donate the amount of money won during the "Roll in the Dough" contest in between sets two and three. Tickets can be purchased in advance at KWWL-TV, Community National Bank and University Book and Supply. Tickets are also available by calling 319-273-4TIX or by visiting unipanthers.com.
