Rowen Named MVC Player of the WeekNov. 6, 2006 St. Louis, Mo. - Junior outside hitter Laura Rowen has been named this week's State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. Rowen averaged 5.33 kills, 2.83 digs and 6.17 points per game in a pair of UNI sweeps of Drake and Creighton. She had 17 kills and eight digs Nov. 3 against the Bulldogs, while hitting .577 (16-2-26). The next night versus the Bluejays, Rowen had 15 kills, nine digs and four blocks. Over the two matches, Rowen hit .387 (32-8-62). The Panthers host Western Illinois tomorrow night (Nov. 7) in their final match ever in the West Gym. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
