CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa Athletics Department is sponsoring a bus for Panther fans who wish to attend the UNI volleyball team's opening-round matches of the NCAA Tournament in Lincoln, Neb.

The fan bus will depart the parking lot north of the Wellness Recreation Center on the UNI campus at 9 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 1 in advance of the Panthers' opening match against Winthrop.  The contest is set for 5 p.m. Friday at the University of Nebraska's NU Coliseum.

A win Friday would place the Panthers in a second match Saturday at 5 p.m. against the winner of an opening-round match between American University and top-seeded Nebraska.

Fans will spend Friday night at the Villager Courtyard and Gardens hotel in Lincoln.  Rooms are $59 plus tax, payable directly to the hotel.  Cost for the fan bus is $90, which includes the bus ride and a ticket to the match.

Contact the UNITix office at (319) 273-4TIX to reserve a spot on the fan bus as soon as possible. Payment must be received in order to provide a guaranteed seat and any cancellations after noon on Tuesday, Nov. 28 will result in a $50 per seat cancellation fee.

The Athletics Department must secure a minimum of 35 fans to guarantee the bus trip.
