UNI tennis set for week of competition

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team hits the road for a three-match stretch this weekend and early next week, beginning with a matchup against UIC on Saturday, April 18.

The Panthers will take on UIC at 12 p.m. CT in Chicago, Illinois, before traveling to Valparaiso, Indiana, for a Sunday morning contest against Valparaiso at 10 a.m. CT. UNI will wrap up the road swing on Tuesday, April 21, with an in-state matchup against Iowa at 10 a.m. in Iowa City.

UNI enters the weekend looking to bounce back after a pair of tough losses at home last weekend, falling 7-0 to both Bradley and Illinois State.

Despite the results, the Panthers showed competitiveness in singles play, highlighted by Andjela Raznatovic pushing her No. 1 singles match to three sets against Bradley. Lucia Schuknecht also delivered a strong performance at No. 2 singles, battling to a second-set tiebreak.
